dating
Dak asked:

Well, since I’m seventeen in high school, I’ll be going off to college next year. With that said, when is the best time to start dating? I have never thought about dating in high school because I know it is too early and usually things wouldn’t work out.

Is it better to date during college or after? Please provide me with some information or experience with your answers. Appreciate it, guys and gals.

    Honestly, age doesn’t matter.
    It’s maturity that counts.

You seem to have a high maturity level.

  5. mexicanboy18 Says:

You could’ve started dating when you were 14. You can start now if you want. You don’t wanna wait until after college, dude. That would be too sad.

Your time to start dating is the time you feel most comfortable around a certain person.

dating and being in a relationship are two big differences, i would suggest takin girls out, just dinner, stuff like that just to get a feel for the dating seen, dont do it to date but to have fun, a.k.a no sex so their not used.

Honestly, dating is about either 1. finding someone you like to spend time with 2. sex. if you are ready to find/have those then date.

  15. Ryno Says:

I dated in high school, college, and after and didn’t regret any of it. I did regret some of the things I did, and some of the people I hurt, but as far as dating, go for it.

  16. Julie H Says:

Yes, date during college. You just may find the love of your life there. Have fun in college and remember the friends you make there will be your friends for life.

  17. cookie Says:

I answered the same exact question already.
I think you should start dating at the age of 18. 18 year olds start thinking more seriously about their futures like what occupation they want to study and if they really want to start their own family someday and so on.

  18. Willbewill Says:

You are well overdue for a date

  19. animeluvforever Says:

umm i think it’s better to get some idea while youre in high school, but not in your last year because it’s a distraction. in college you might meet people that have already been in relationships and might feel like you’re behind on the dating world. but you’re not just to let you know. try and look for someone early in the year before midterms so that you’r enot disracted when midterms come, because the early parts of a relationship are really distracting sometimes.

    After you get married

  21. kenneth a Says:

Tsk.. you haven’t DATED EVER!!?? PROBABLY U DON’T GET LAID EITHER.. LISTEN BRO.. ANY TIME IS THE BEST TIME, YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT AND WASTE OPPORTUNITY THAT MANHOOD GAVE YOU.

  22. deperriq Says:

definitely in college if not before. typically i would say a few dates in high school is NOT too early. of course those relationships probably won’t work out but if you don’t have the experience of a few non-working relationships under your belt, then you can’t expect any relationship to work out, so when you find someone in college you really like you will know far less than they do about relationships in general.

  23. Dean Says:

will is good to date in high school so you have some know how but start now man and keep going in college

  24. answersyourquestions Says:

dating anytime is ok. most people have their first boyfriend/girlfriend in high school, but not everyone. it’s fine to have your first girlfriend in college, because if you’re out of college and haven’t had one serious girlfriend people may wonder what’s wrong with you. (not that there is but people might think there is) it seems like in college and after is when most people meet the people they end up with.

  25. LovemyBebe Says:

If you are just dating then now is the time. Being ready for sex is all up to an individual. I started dating very casually when I was 15, no sex. As long as it doesn’t interfere with school work then you should go out and get to know some guys. Don’t let them rule you is all.

  26. josh E Says:

During college for sure, Keep in mind college relationships are alot more serious then high school. So find a girl that you really like. Also don’t just ask a girl out that you have only seen 2 or three times. make sure your in some of the same classes.

College is a great way to meet girls. If you wait till afterwards it will be really hard to locate girls that you want to date.

so start now! then step up the game in college

  27. Cindy B Says:

Good Question! College is a good time to date but not serious. College is all about learning not only the books but life. If you think your ready go for it but be smart. Don’t let worrying about girls get in your way of school BUT have fun. Don’t get serious fast take your time and get to know people. When your ready, it will happen. Rushing will only get you hurt. Girls just aren’t sensitive to your feelings as you would think we are. Hope this helps. Have fun and be safe in whatever happens. Some of these answers are unbelievable. the guy asked a simple question and some of you are just sick!

  28. kawaiikiticake Says:

Well it was a mature decision deciding not to date in highschool. :)
However, I believe it’s not a matter of whether to date in high school or incollege, but whether or not you are ready to date.
Think about it: What’s the purpose of dating? To get married.
Although our society has popularized casual dating, the purpose of dating is to ultimately, decide who we will get married to.

So the question to yourself would then be: Am I at an age and mature level at which I would be ready to consider marriage?
If the answer is NO, then put off dating until you are at that age and level of maturity.
If it is YES, then date wisely with the prospect of marriage in mind.

NO, I’m not an old fart. I’m 18! And I actually believe this :) Besides, it gives you time to focus on school as compared to putting time and effort into another person. Relationships are wonderful things, but they best at the right time in your life.

Hopefully I’ve given you some sort of insight in your decisions, but think about! Are you at an age and level to get married? If not, it isn’t the right time to date.

  29. Riley Says:

Okay, believe it or not, but the best time to start dating is right now. You may think that right now that you are too young, but you need some experience talking to girls, and learning to understand them. I’m not saying to go and propose to someone tomorrow, but get out there and make yourself available, because when your older and you feel that your mature enough, you will find the right girl and you will have learned from your mistakes and will have learned a what you need to do to have a commited relationship. And completely unrelated, but practice makes perfect at physical activites as well, lol

This is from my own life experience… I am 28 yr old woman. Lucky I only have just one child. I am married and live at my parents house. I am unable to work because my 6 dollar an hour job will pay for gas and childcare. My husband is not a college grad either and is being forced to become a truck driver just so we can get up on our feet, and maybe if we are lucky one day get a double wide at the back of my parents place.. When my husband is out on the road he will miss our son’s first word, crawl, walk, etc., He will be gone for around 27 days a month. We are lucky enough to have 2 vehicles. His truck is a 97 and mine is a 99 and not really safe for our child. My transmission could go out any day and his truck is well getting old and has minor stuff wrong with it. My husband has always wanted a big truck not a 4 cyl, but I don’t know if we will ever be able to afford it. We have no money in the bank we are actually a negative something now. We never get to do anything fun and we fought through our whole over 6 years of our marriage now, mostly about money.
Well I could go on but I think you get the general idea….Wait at least till your last year of college. Make sure what field you go into is what you really want to do. anyways gtg baby needs me..
