lmao, that's cute. it's better that the chihuahua is in charge. if the german shepherd knows how easily it could hurt and dominate the chihuahua, that would be a bad thing.

I can understand why'd you be concerned, but it's really not an issue. I have a 7 yr old 95 lb male who is dominated by his 17 lb black mut friend/thingy female.

Number 1) Males often will allow a female to dominate them except in mating times. Then the male says what goes. Number 2) my male is dominated by her, but he is fierce towards other dogs. Number 3) He almost kills her just by playing with her (falling on her/tackling her). I couldn't imagine if he actually wanted to attack her.

Years back it bothered me, but size really doesn't matter with dogs in rank and being dominated by one dog doesn't mean they will be by the rest

Most importantly, that one male of mine? My ex gf and I broke up and she took the 17 lb mutt. My GSD was devestated so that I had to beg for the mutt back. So yes, she dominates him - but he likes it just the way it is. But yeh, she does go overboard sometimes and he lets her know.

Why do you want it the other way round? Much safer to have the more dominant dog being the smaller one - much less danger of any harm being done to either. The GSD won't get a complex about being bossed around by a chihuahua - that's just your prejudice and attitude towards the breed - which makes me wonder why you own both these types of dog in the first place!! Your GSD is far from being alone in this sort of situation - I know an elderly chi who has a huge rottie wrapped around his littlest paw, my own dobie is bossed around by a 8" high Lancashire Heeler puppy..., it's not a character flaw - just the way things work sometimes.

Not trying to be mean but could you not be so vulgar in your questions...grose. If the German Sheperd is only 3 months old just remember he is just a puppy and give him time to adjust to his surroundings and to his companions as well.

Please don't try to 'toughen up' your dog. It will only end badly. If you have a serious concern take your dog to a reputable trainer in your area.

at one yr 3 mo. your gsd is still pretty much a puppy.your chihuahua is an adult and knows the gsd will be coming into adulthood pretty soon so the chihuahua is establishing the alpha lead.it will only be a couple of months more when your gsd will challenge your chi and guess who is going to end up in the doghouse(no pun intended) well of course it will be the gsd,he will win and the chi is either going to have to give in and share or sleep outside the doghouse.

Chihuahuas are naturally often more dominant and bolder than other dogs. Why would you want your german shepherd to be aggressive toards your chihuhua? If it was, it could seriously harm your little dog

They obviously established their rank. But if the chihuahua begins to bite or become more dominant, correct it. Only you are allowed to correct your dogs.
